Johannes Bauer, Ph.D.

Dr. Johannes Bauer is a data analytics director in Advanced Analytics at S&P Global.

As part of the Advanced Analytics team, Dr. Bauer partners with various business lines at S&P Global to develop new, innovative products that involve the application of data science techniques, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence and predictive modelling. He leads a range of data science initiatives working closely with our financial services, automotive and energy teams. He has more than ten years of experience in quantitative modelling with a focus on machine learning, statistics, optimization and distributed computing. Dr. Bauer has a proven research record with more than thirty peer-reviewed papers published. He holds a Master of Science in applied mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Imperial College London, United Kingdom.
