Robert Applegate, Ph.D.

Dr. Applegate comes from OPIS (now a part of S&P Global) and models real-time, short term, and long-term forecasts of natural gas demand. While part of OPIS, he built PointLogic, a single interactive source for real-time market monitoring and short-term analysis for the North American natural gas markets. PointLogic is now a part of S&P Global's portfolio of natural gas products. Before joining OPIS, Dr. Applegate worked at Bentek Energy, where he developed and implemented mathematical models to guide market decisions around natural gas and natural gas liquids in North America. Prior to his work in the energy space, he served on the Board of Directors, scientific advisory boards, as principal investigator, and directed research efforts for more than ten start-up biotechnology companies; a handful of which he helped to found. Dr. Applegate completed a postdoctoral position at Los Alamos National Laboratory and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the Colorado School of Mines.
